Djirra needs your support to get our key advocacy priorities in front of the state’s politicians!

We are calling for:

• Support for Djirra’s Aboriginal Women’s Centre (AWC) to keep Aboriginal women safe, strong, visible and connected. Djirra’s AWC will be a landmark place of cultural significance, celebrated by all Victorians.
• Funding for regional expansion to ensure no Aboriginal woman has to travel more than 1 hour or 100 km to access specialist culturally safe support for her safety and that of her children.
• The implementation of a child protection notification and referral scheme to ensure that where Child Protection is involved, Aboriginal mums will be referred to Djirra’s specialist family violence legal service. Early access to legal advice and representation is fundamental in keeping our mums and children safe and together.
