On 28 November, Djirra CEO Antoinette Braybrook AM and staff were joined by over 100 people, including local Aboriginal women, family violence sector leaders, government officials and Federal politicians on Djirra’s annual walk around Lake Burley Griffin as part our campaign calling on everyone to get ACTIVE in their ACTIVEism to end violence against our women.
“Our campaign during these 16 days of Activism is to amplify Aboriginal women’s voices and experiences. It’s time for this country’s politicians to SEE, HEAR and LISTEN to US. We are calling on everyone to ACTIVATE their ACTIVEism and STAND WITH US to call for greater funding for our specialist, life saving work. NOW MORE THAN EVER our self-determined solutions MUST be invested in.” – Djirra CEO Antoinette Braybrook AM.
