Djirra’s ACTIVEism Festival is coming, so save the date!
For Aboriginal women, 16 Days of Activism provides a unique opportunity to amplify our voices and draw attention to our self-determined solutions to put an end to the devastating impact that gendered violence has on Aboriginal women’s and children’s lives.
This year Djirra’s ACTIVEism Festival will again be one of the biggest Aboriginal-led events on Victoria’s 2024 16 Days of Activism calendar.
As part of the global 16 Days of Activism campaign to end violence against women and children, our festival will be a celebration of Aboriginal women’s strength and resilience, a stand against violence and a jam-packed schedule of deadly activities and entertainment.
Date: Tuesday, 3 December 2024
Time: 11am – 3pm
Address: Darebin Arts Centre (401 Bell Street, Preston)
Our ACTIVEism event will be a lot of fun as community, staff and supporters come together, get ACTIVE, and explore different ways to build physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health and wellbeing.
- ACTIVEism speakers, led by Djirra CEO Antoinette Braybrook AM
- A marketplace offering a range of health and wellbeing information and resources
- Arts and crafts, yoga, meditation, cultural healing, and dance workshops
- Live music
- A healthy shared lunch
- And much, much more…

Calling all community organisations – host a stall at Djirra’s ACTIVEism Festival info marketplace
Djirra is thrilled to invite ACCOs and health-focused community organisations to express interest in being part of our ACTIVEism Festival information marketplace.
Our marketplace will be a fantastic way for selected organisations to connect directly with Aboriginal women with valuable information, resources, and supports to build physical, mental, social, emotional, and/or spiritual wellbeing.
To be part of our marketplace – and stand alongside Djirra during this year’s 16 Days of Activism – please submit an expression of interest (short form).
EOI for Government or community organisations
Expressions of interest close Monday, 7 October 2024.
If you have any questions about the marketplace or the Festival please contact Djirra Event Coordinator Megan Clark at comms@djirra.org.au
