Since 2002, Djirra has listened to Aboriginal women and been fearless and unapologetic in demanding change. In 24 years, we have never seen the demand for our services fall. It has only continued to rise, yet funding has not kept pace.

Your donation will support our lifesaving and life changing work and contribute to a future where Aboriginal women and their children can thrive, not just survive.

I was referred to Djirra’s counsellor for family violence counselling when I felt broken and alone, I thought everyone was out to get me. The counsellor really listened to me, didn’t judge me and helped me to cope. My kids are rapt about the changes as well.

Djirra is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC).
All donations over $2 have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status with the Australian Tax Office.

Donate goods

You can donate new essential items to Djirra.

These are given to Aboriginal women and their children, to support them on their individual journeys to safety.

Items we always need include:

Clothing

  • Women’s underwear
  • Socks
  • Overnight duffle bags

Art supplies

  • Paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Canvas

  • Paint trays

Pantry staples

  • Canned vegetables
  • Pasta and pasta sauces
  • Tuna tins
  • Long life milk
  • Tea and coffee
  • Sugar

We also accept new and pre-loved clothing at different times of the year, such as our annual winter coat drive.

You can drop off or send items to Koori Women’s Place:

  • Abbotsford: 292 Hoddle Street, Abbotsford
  • Melton: 1927-1937 Gisborne-Melton Rd, Kurunjang
  • Mildura: 139-141 Langtree Avenue, Mildura
  • Traralgon: The Collective Cospace, Suite 30/108 Franklin St, Traralgon

From 9am-4:30pm Monday to Friday (except public holidays)
