IT environment

Helpdesk
Just a reminder that Scope IT has merged with IT for Business! The new helpdesk support number and email to use for support requests is:
New phone system
We continue to monitor the performance of our new phone system. Please ensure you report issues to Nidhi or Jaynaya. Angus will be at the office tomorrow to work on reported issues to date. The next round of training is Monday 22 January. Calendar invitations will be circulated shortly.

New printers
Community Engagement: Your new printer will arrive next Tuesday! David will be on site to ensure everything goes to plan with the installation. The old passageway printer located on the first floor will be picked up Tuesday too. David is still working with Konica on previous issues i.e. scans.  Let Nidhi know if you have any further IT issues.

New laptops
Legal Services will be the first to be upgraded with new Surface Pros and will occur in line with the move to the Northcote office in February. All other staff will be upgraded following this.

Video conferencing – Boardroom & KWP
The equipment is onsite and will be available very soon. The holdup is us finding an electrician available in January to connect the TV which has somehow lost power. More on this to come.

Mobile phone upgrade
When the dust settles, all staff will be upgraded to an iPhone 6 (March 2018).

Djirra Handbook - NEW
The Corporate Services team have been working on a handbook which will provide all employees with an overview of Djirra, a clear description of what we do, what we expect from you and what you can expect from us.

The handbook is currently a work-in-progress. If you’re interested in having a read and providing feedback/suggestions, please let Jaynaya know.

Operations

Refurbishment on ground floor
Planning approval for works on ground floor has been submitted. Fingers crossed. Plans are attached for your interest.

SST work area
Minor disruption and works planned to repair the damage from the flooding issue we had in December. Will let you know a date as soon as we can.

Events

Survival Day
26 January – a day off? A holiday with family and friends? Most Australia’s celebrate Australia Day as the day Australia was founded. In contrast, for many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, this day holds a very different type of significance: mourning; anger; celebration; survival.  Survival Day was formerly referred to as ‘Invasion Day’ and has since been referred to as ‘Survival Day’ because Aboriginal people ‘survived’ the invasion.

If you have no plans for 26 January, head over to Treasury Gardens and attend Melbourne’s official Survival Day event Share the Spirit festival.
