Marngrooks with Bernadette Atkinson – Abbotsford – 3 September

The word Marngrook comes from the Gunditjmara language and means ‘game ball’. Elements of AFL are believed to have originated from this traditional game played with a possum fur ball. Bernadette Atkinson is a cultural educator and proud Yorta Yorta woman. Come and learn about the history of Marngrook and make one to take home!

Visiting service on the day: Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) who can assist to:

  • check to see if a birth (or another life event is registered)
  • assist in completing registration and application forms for all life events (birth, death, marriage, change of name)
  • answer any question you might have in relation to BDM services.

To help with your application, bring along some valid proof of identity, such as a current Medicare card/confirmation slip, bank card or driver’s licence. If you don’t have any of these, bring what you can, and BDM will help you.
