Ngumpie Weaving (Vase)- Friday 19 April- Online

Tegan Murdock is a proud Barkindtji, Yorta Yorta woman. She has been weaving for over two years, taught by her mum which she now passes onto others.

Join Tegan from Ngumpie weaving for a special workshop where you can weave your own beautiful vase using raffia. This exclusive weaving workshop is designed for all who want to slow down and create something special for themselves or a loved one.

No experience is needed as Tegan, an experienced instructor, will guide you through various weaving techniques using raffia. You’ll learn to craft a stunning vase using this versatile and natural material.

This workshop offers a chance to relax, unwind, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of weaving with raffia. Take a break from daily life and engage in some mindful creativity.

By the end, you’ll have a unique vase that showcases your creativity and the beauty of raffia. Whether it’s for yourself or someone special, your vase will be a cherished reminder of the care you put into creating it.

Registration is a must as we’ll be sending out a Zoom meeting ID prior to the workshop date.

KWP workshops are free and open to all Aboriginal women in Victoria. Please register by contacting our Koori Women’s Place team on 9244 3333 or kwp@djirra.org.au
